Blacknut Cloud Gaming welcomes Monstro Maestro from Game Academy, reinforcing its commitment to supporting emerging talent and bridging communities in gaming
Blacknut is pleased to announce the arrival of Monstro Maestro, a creative and original 2D action-adventure game developed by students from Game Academy, now available on the platform.
Game Academy is a French higher education school dedicated to training the next generation of video game professionals. It offers hands-on programs in game design, game art, programming, and production, with a strong emphasis on project-based learning and real-world studio practices.
I am particularly proud to welcome Monstro Maestro to Blacknut. Seeing young talents turn their creativity into such a polished experience is truly inspiring. At Blacknut, we believe innovation also comes from schools and student projects, and we are thrilled to give them visibility across our global community. —ThierryTeyssier, CPO Blacknut
Monstro Maestro invites players to step into the shoes of a maestro trapped in a haunted and chaotic mansion during what should have been a triumphant concert. When a jealous ghost possesses the orchestra, the music is abruptly interrupted—leaving the conductor with a single mission: explore the mansion, rescue the possessed musicians, and restore harmony to the stage.
Blending exploration, platforming, and rhythm-inspired gameplay, the game offers a distinctive experience where music shapes both the narrative and the gameplay itself. Players navigate atmospheric environments, confront supernatural obstacles, and complete musical challenges to rebuild their orchestra and break the curse.
This partnership with Blacknut represents a concrete opportunity for our students to engage with the realities of the cloud gaming market. At Game Academy, we place the industry at the heart of our educational approach, and collaborating with an international player like Blacknut perfectly aligns with this vision. — Kévin Vivier, Director of Game Academy
Developed over a nine-week production cycle by second-year Game Development and Game Art students at Game Academy, Monstro Maestro is the result of a fully collaborative pipeline involving more than twenty young creators working across design, art, and production. The project reflects the school’s hands-on approach to training the next generation of game developers.
With this release, Blacknut continues to reinforce its commitment to supporting emerging talent and strengthening the wider game development ecosystem. By bringing student-created projects into its global catalog, Blacknut aims to bridge the gap between education and the industry, giving visibility to new voices and creative experiments that might otherwise remain unseen.
This initiative is part of a broader ambition: to foster a vibrant and inclusive gaming community, both inside and outside the traditional industry space. Blacknut remains deeply invested in nurturing students, independent creators, and early-stage talent, helping them reach new audiences and grow their craft within a real-world distribution environment.
