The initiative brings Atari’s growing portfolio to Blacknut, including titles from recently acquired Thunderful Games, adding fan-favorite titles to the cloud gaming platform’s 1,000+ game catalog
Atari and Blacknut are bringing a selection of more than forty Atari games to Blacknut, extending their availability across a growing range of connected devices and giving players a new way to discover and play them through the cloud.
The initiative connects Atari’s expanding games portfolio with Blacknut’s multi-device cloud gaming ecosystem, enabling players to access games directly through compatible Smart TVs, PCs, smartphones, tablets and other connected devices, without the need for downloads, installations or dedicated gaming hardware. For Atari, the collaboration provides an additional distribution channel to extend the reach of its games to new audiences and devices. For Blacknut, it adds one of the most recognizable names in gaming to its publisher ecosystem, further diversifying a catalog of more than 1,000 games.
Atari is a hugely recognizable name in gaming, but its portfolio today goes far beyond its historic arcade legacy. We’re excited to work with Atari to help bring this broad range of games to more players and more screens. Giving publishers another way to distribute their games while making the experience simpler and more convenient for consumers is always the end goal for Blacknut’s licensing team.
— Nabil Laredj, VP, Business Development & Licensing
Cloud gaming allows publishers to make games available directly through connected devices, while giving consumers the flexibility to play without downloading or installing games or owning a dedicated console or gaming PC. This creates a more seamless way for players to discover and access games, while giving publishers an opportunity to reach audiences across an increasingly broad connected-device ecosystem.
Blacknut’s curated game collection and technology platform, with its all-audiences orientation and support for multiplayer gaming, is a wonderful fit for Atari’s portfolio of fun and accessible single player adventures and couch co-op party games. We look forward to working with the team at Blacknut to bring even more content to players.
—Andreas Deptolla, President Atari Europe.
The expanded Atari portfolio further strengthens Blacknut’s position as a distribution platform for publishers looking to extend their games across the growing connected entertainment ecosystem. With more than 1,000 games and partnerships with more than 150 publishers and technology, telecom and distribution partners, Blacknut brings cloud gaming to players in more than 65 countries, across Smart TVs, smartphones, tablets, PCs and other compatible devices.
